TODAY'S  NEWS  1.   The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast heavy rainfall over Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, East Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya and Bihar during next seven days. TODAY'S NEWS  1.   The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast widespread rainfall over Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand during the next 4 days. The very heavy rainfall is also likely over Himachal Pradesh, West Uttar Pradesh, East Madhya Pradesh and Uttarakhand.  2.   The Election Commission of India has announced the schedule for bye polls for 12 Rajya Sabha seats in nine states. Notification in this regard will be issued on the 14th of this month and nominations can be filed till the 21st of this month. The scrutiny of nominations will be done on the 22nd of the August. The Election will be held on the 3rd of next month.  3.   The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) is set to launch its latest Earth Observation Satellite, EOS-08, on August 15.
