TODAY'S  NEWS  1.   Heavy Rain in Himachal: Normal life hit, over 190 roads closed across Mandi, Shimla, Kullu; heavy downpour predicted till 7 August.  2.   The Kerala government on Saturday announced that a township will be established in a secure area to rehabilitate those displaced by the catastrophic landslide that occurred in the Mundakkai region of Wayanad district. 3.   The India Meteorological Department on Saturday issued a red alert for Maharashtra's Palghar, Pune and Satara districts for August 4. Droupadi Murmu inaugurates two-day Conference of Governors at Rashtrapati Bhavan; Asks Governors to suggest ways for inclusive development of people of Scheduled and Tribal areas.  The conference will cover a wide range of issues that play a critical role in not only shaping the centre-state relations but also promoting welfare schemes for common people. 2.   Union Cabinet has approved 8 important National High-Speed Road Corridor Projects of length nine hundred 36 kilometres at a total cost of 50 thousand 655 Crore rupees to improve logistics efficiency, reduce congestion and enhance connectivity across the country. TODAY’S NEWS 1.   The Disaster Management (Amendment) Bill 2024 was introduced in the Lok Sabha yesterday by Minister of State for Home, Nityanand Rai. The Bill seeks to amend the Disaster Management Act, 2005. The purpose of the Act was to put in place necessary institutional mechanisms for drawing up and monitoring the implementation of disaster management plans. 2.   In Uttarakhand, 425 pilgrims stranded on the Kedarnath Dham Yatra route have been brought to a safe place by helicopter from Lyncholi and Bhimbali in Rudraprayag district so far. Earlier, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami inspected the disaster-affected area in Tehri district. TODAY'S NEWS 1.   The India Meteorological Departent (IMD) has forecast heavy to very heavy rainfall to continue along the West Coast of the country during the next five days.  2.   The Central government has reiterated unwavering support to Kerala to deal with the devastating landslide in Wayanad district. TODAY’S NEWS 1.   The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast extremely heavy rainfall over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, Kerala, Mahe, and South Karnataka for today.  The weather agency has made similar   for Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh,West Uttar Pradesh, Jammu-Kashmir, and Himachal Pradesh till Thursday.  2.   President Smt.
